About the museum

A home for the history of Kielce

The Museum of the History of Kielce collects, preserves and presents objects, documents and stories connected with the city and its residents. It is housed in a historic 19th-century building in the centre of Kielce.

1908

The beginnings of organised museum activity in Kielce.

1913

The building at 4 Świętego Leonarda Street becomes a museum.

2006

The Museum of the History of Kielce is established as an independent institution.

Today

The museum documents the city’s heritage through collections, exhibitions and research.
