Marcin Kolasa (Museum of the History of Kielce) Acquisitions of Kielce History Museum in 2014 In 2014, the Kielce History Museum acquired 275 objects of which 88 were entered into the inventory book ‘History’, 97 into the inventory book ‘Art’ and 90 into an auxiliary inventory book ‘Materials’. Library resources increased by 328 items. The collection included documents and publications on socio-economic life of Kielce and the region. The oldest documents are tax charges receipts from the 1960s. Among the photographs are portraits, among other of Rafał Piwowarski, owner of the Hotel Bristol, and Konstanty Holewiński, notary public, as well as numerous group photographs. Michał Łapiński donated a collection of 87 rolls of photographic negatives of pictures taken in 1940 – 1970. The Museum collection was also enriched with postcards with views of Kielce and those related to the period of World War I and the 1920 War, commemorative plates connected mostly with Kielce production plants as well as some products of those plants, including a rare roaster manufactured in 1937 for the Polish Army in the Kielce ‘Ludwików’ Steelworks as well as other miscellaneous objects such as a template for labelling soap from Candle and Soap Factory of Karol Rejchelt, seal presses from Hats Manufacturer of Sz. Kochen and Polish White Cross, a belt buckle of a soldier of 4th Infantry Regiment of the Polish Legions and a sign of a forge of J. Gacek from 1904. The Museum also received gifts from the Kielce branch of the Polish Association of Combatants and Former Political Prisoners as well as Kielce Andrzejowe Brotherhood. Works of Stanisław Prauss, Andrzej Dworak, Stanisław Pałysiewicz, Piotr Wollenberg, Krzysztof Jackowski and Aleksandra Makowska were included into the Museum’s art collection. Among the medals acquired by the Museum are those designed by Z. Kaczor, S. Dulny, H. Papierniak, W. Kowalik, B. Chmielewski and S. Wątróbska – Frindt. The Museum also acquired commemorative medals from the 1920s, a medal and a plaque associated with the 100th anniversary of the visit of the First Cadre Company in Kielce as well as a copy of a death mask of Marshal Józef Piłsudski and a patriotic shrine with commemorative badges of the Home Army. The Museum’s library collection, including, apart from the collection of books, also documents of social life and iconographic documentation, increased by 283 books, 27 issues of magazines, 6 museum catalogues, 6 documents of social life and 6 iconographic objects.
