Edyta Majcher-Ociesa (The Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce) Wood industry in Kielce in years 1918–1939 In the interwar period there were furniture factories, lumber mills, units producing floors, boxes, barrels working in Kielce area. Henryk Nowak was the author of Kielce wood industry.In 1921 in the wood industry of Kielce worked 956 people what constituted the 9.3% of total industry employment of the city. The wood industry was represented by two large institutions employing over 100 workers, to rank remaining plants among averages and small. Well lumber mills working based on the raw material from state Forestry Commissions and private properties unrolled. Plants of the industry of a tree in Kielce belonged mainly to Jews or were these are state units. Some of entrepreneurs were recognised specialists in the all-Polish arena, e.g. Herman Lewi, Bernard Bugajer. Plants ranked among the wood industry were located at a few streets, among others for Starozagnanska, Młynarska and Gleboczek. Smaller institutions have often changed their location and the owner. Kielce industrialists of the industry of a tree formed a union.
