Abstrakt
Marcin Kolasa (Museum of the History of Kielce) Acquisitions of Kielce History Museum (2006-2008) The Kielce History Museum was established on September 1, 2006 and it is situated in a historic, 19th century tenement house at 4 St. Leonard Street. Until 1913, the house was the seat of the Museum of the Polish Tourist Country-Lovers’ Society. Initially, the Museum did not have any collection items. Exhibits were either purchased or donated by various institutions and mostly by the inhabitants of Kielce, who eagerly gave the Museum their memorabilia connected with the history of Kielce and the region. At the end of 2008, the Museum collection comprised 823 exhibits entered into a History and Art inventory register and 1,278 objects entered into a material register. There are also 1265 exhibits on loan. The historic collection consists of archaeological monuments, archives, iconography, cartography, numismatics, sphragistics, phaleristics and other. Art collection comprises paintings, graphics, drawings, sculptures and artistic craftsmanship items. The collection of the Museum’s library is mostly of regional character, including complete publications, museum catalogues, continuous publications and magazines as well as documents referring to social life. In total there is 2,000 items. There are also more than 3,500 items on loan from the Scientific Society of Kielce (complete publications and magazines, stationery, typescripts and microfilms)
